چکیده
Abstract Background To date, sparse data are available with regard to gender differences in coronary plaque morphology and composition as underlying mechanism of MINOCA. Purpose assess the culprit lesion between women men MINOCA using intravascular optical coherence tomography. Methods Totally, 7404 consecutives acute myocardial infarction patients who underwent emergency angiography 2016 2019 were screened. identified 292 (mean age: 72.6% male, 54.1% ST-segment elevation). Optical tomography was performed 190 (men, n=142). Results Women older (62.5±10.6 vs. 54.0±11.5, P<0.001) more over 55 years (75.3% 43.6%, P<0.001). Although frequently presented NSTEMI (56.8% 41.7%, P=0.025) prior artery disease (CAD) (33.3% 6.3%, P<0.001), they less likely smoker (27.2% 58.8%, There no significant difference incidence rupture, erosion calcified nodule women. However, have thin-cap fibroatheroma (TCFA) (39.6% 22.5%, P=0.025). Conclusion older, smoking compared men. Besides, TCFA observed Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None. Clinical Applications of Optical Coherence Tomography in Ophthalmology
Assessment of the peripapillary nerve fiber layer and macular thickness can be determined in ophthalmology using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Decreased nerve fiber layer thickness and macular ganglion cell thickness in optic nerve ischemia have been correlated with visual field loss. OCT allows deep optic nerve head evaluation which helps understand pathophysiology of diseases. Furtherm...

متن کاملMechanisms of late stent-related myocardial infarction: insights from optical coherence tomography
This article focuses on optical coherence tomography findings in patients with late major cardiovascular events like myocardial infarction and/or stent thrombosis, following drug-eluting stent and bare-metal stent implantation. Uncovered stent struts and malapposition seem to play a critical role in drug-eluting stent-related late events. Neointimal features similar to native atherosclerosis ar...

A 66-year-old woman with long-term essential hypertension presentedwith poorly controlled bloodpressure in spiteof six antihypertensive drugs. Percutaneous renal denervation was indicated as a treatment of resistant arterial hypertension. Renal angiography showed ‘strings of beads’ appearance characteristic of fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) in the mid-segment of the right renal artery (Panel A)....

Background and aims: Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of mortality among men and women so that the difference in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) symptoms between men and women can affect diagnosis and time of decision making for treatment and consequently disease outcomes. Therefore, knowledge of different symptoms affects the prognosis of the disease according to t...
